Lefties make better fighters

In the article Lefties make better fighters, it is talking about the advantage that people who are left handed have a better advantage of fighting then those that are right handed. The reason that this is thought of is because people generally are used to fighting those that are right handed, so if you are left handed it confers an element of surprise, and therefore the right handed person is thrown off. I found this to be interesting because it is true in most cases that there are more people that are right handed. So what do you think is their advantage or not?

This is not only true, but economically rational. If 75% of your opponents are favoring one side over the other, it makes sense to focus your attentions on that style. That will make you weaker against a leftie.

FYI: This is also why left-handed pitchers and hitters are valued in baseball, and why left wingers tend to be score more goals in hockey. I don't know if this is a fact, but I have even heard that switch hitters in baseball who prefer to bat left actually bat worse against lefties (when ceterus paribus they should bat the same against them).
