Global Warming, The Result of Cleaner Air?

A recent European science meeting presented new research stating that clean air may be causing global warming. Two trends are thought to be pushing temperatures higher than originally believed, which are that cleaner air is letting more solar energy through to the Earth's surface, and increased water vapor in the atmosphere is reinforcing the impact of man-made greenhouse gas emissions. This is yet another indication that global warming is indeed a threat that needs to be addressed before it's too late.

I am tired of hearing about global warming. One expert says this and the other says that. I think nobody really knows what’s going on. I had a professor once that introduced me to a book called The Skeptical Environmentalist and that book explained that everyone is full of it. I agree.

Economists have generally been suspicious of global warming. Part of the reason is that what economists do (and what makes economics so hard to understand) is trace out how primary effects in one direction are balanced out by secondary effects in other directions in a manner that is self-correcting.

Not to toot my own, but I can remember a point like this being made at a lunch with John Seater from North Carolina State in 1989.
