Is MBA worth it?

In these times of financial hardship and economic crisis, the cost of MBA programs have continually increased. In the United States the rising cost of these programs is even more substantial than other countries. This increase of price has led many people to question whether this education is really worth the price they pay to receive it. The economic crisis has encouraged many students to further their education in pursuit of more prestiges degrees and many of the unemployed to return to school. Many question whether it is worth obtaining these degrees or more beneficial to take a lower income job to keep from going debt.
In my opinion education is priceless. Furthering my knowledge for myself and future generations will not only benefit myself, but will also advance society as a whole. Looking into the future it is a smarter investment to continue your education at this time of economic distress because when the economy finally does recover there will be better job opportunities and better pay for the educated. Easy question. Yes an MBA degree is always worth it as long as you learn something in the process. For some people an MBA degree might make a big difference but for others it might not. It all depends on what you want to do in your life.

The more education you receive in life the better off you our mentally but not financially. I just read this article stating that a MBA may just be an expensive piece of paper. Enrollment in MBA courses were less than 5,000 in 1960 and 100,000 in 2000. I can only imagine that number has double or tripled in the last ten years. With more MBA's out there the more competition there's going to be competing for similar jobs that require and MBA.
