Mini-size Hummer

Hummer has now introduced a smaller size Hummer that is appealing to more consumers. Instead of driving a full size Hummer around, one can drive one similar in size to a Jeep Liberty. The smaller Hummer is powered by a 220 horsepower 5-cylinder engine. This will be the first Hummer available with a manual transmission. Gas is expected to be close to 20 miles per gallon which is much better than the past Hummers.

Are midsize SUV's what people want? Or does it just give more people a chance to say they drive a Hummer? The new Hummer is 17 inches shorter than the H2 and 6.5 inches narrower. It still will be able to drive through 16 inches of water at 20 miles per hour and can climb a 40 degree incline. It's a mini-Hummer. This will allow more people to have the car of their dreams for a cheaper price.

I think that it will start off being a big rage because people can buy something that is different. but eventually I think that it will lose its appeal. Possibly Hummer will lose money on this adventure. I would say they have to be very careful they do not lose there market niche.

I think that Hummer is doing a smart marketing move. Most people can't drive a $100,000 H1 Hummer, which is the reason for the H2. Most other car manufactures have also done this very thing. I believe this move will give Hummer more sales and expose more people to Hummer.

One of the appeals of the H2 is its size, but it also works against it. I think that GM is trying to appeal to a whole new market because GM has plenty of SUVs and trucks that have the same engine as the H2 and similar gas mileage who are selling like hotcakes. Hopefully it doesn't the H3 doesn't get the same reaction as the Pontac Aztec. Somebody drove that thing off-road and slammed straight into the ugly-tree.

I definately think that most people buy Hummer's purely for the image that it brings to them. I see more soccer moms driving Hummer's than any other group. This new, smaller Hummer is a very good idea to get those that cannot currently afford a full-size model to purchase one. Our society is very much image driven, and the name alone will make those people that currently are looking into Jeep's, Durango's, Envoy's, and many others to take another look at Hummer.

This new Hummer is a great idea. There are many out there that are either not rich enough to pay the payment or for the gas, the H3 is a logical yet sporty way to meet their demands. I think chevy has done a fine job in trying to meet all demands whether it be in trucks, cars or Hummers. Chevy is a company that thinks about what is going to appeal to the customer and then with its power makes it happen I think it's awesome!!!
